Arlington Welcomes New Target Store At Ballston

Target will open its Ballston, Virginia, location on August 16. This is its 10th-smaller, urban-format store in the D.C. area. The 41,000-square-foot Target, on the ground floor of The 491-unit Waycroft apartment building, is at 740 N. Glebe Road. Urban-format Target stores cater to inventory specifically to the neighborhoods in which they open. Most of them open in dense urban areas and near college campuses. Volunteers Come Together In Arlington To Meet Food Insecurity Challenge

There were eight vegetable bagging work stations located more than six feet apart in the Rock Spring United Church of Christ Carpenter Room on Monday morning. 1,025 pounds of vegetables have been bagged by volunteers since June 1 to meet the food insecurity challenge produced by the coronavirus pandemic. Donors drop off bags of kale and collards and radishes, supplemented by green beans, peppers, zucchini, and cucumbers as the season changes. Twin Sisters In Arlington To Celebrate Virtual Graduation

Twins Emily and Sarah Roberts are twin sisters that go to Yorktown High School In Arlington. It was their final year at the school and they looked forward to the traditional graduation ceremony which got canceled due to coronavirus pandemic. Emily and Sarah say they were still hoping for in-person graduation even after the rest of the school year at Yorktown High School had been canceled. Emily says that they kept hoping as Yorktown sent a couple of messages out, but never really said graduation was canceled.
